Shubham karoti kalyanam: Prayer to the Lamp - traditional tune

Diya, deep, deepak, jyoti, jyoth, valakku - The traditional pooja lamp has many names. It is a symbol of auspiciousness and hence lighting of the lamp is a very important part of any pooja or inauguration of an event. करचरण कृतं वाक्कायजं कर्मजं वा । श्रवणनयनजं वा मानसं वापराधं । विहितमविहितं वा सर्वमेतत्क्षमस्व । जय जय करुणाब्धे श्रीमहादेव शम्भो ॥ Kara-Charana Krtam Vaak-Kaaya-Jam Karma-Jam Vaa | Shravanna-Nayana-Jam Vaa Maanasam Va-Aparaadham | Vihitam-Avihitam Vaa Sarvam-Etat-Kshamasva | Jaya Jaya Karunna-Abdhe Shree-Mahaadeva Shambho || This is a prayer seeking forgiveness.
