Prayer to Lord ganesha, the remover of obstacles

Let us begin with a shloka for Lord Ganesha who is believed to be the remover of all obstacles:

Vakratunda Mahaakaaya

Surya koti sama Prabha

Nirvighnam Kurume Deva Sarva Karyeshu Sarvadaa

Meaning: Oh Lord who has a curved trunk and an immense body and who is as dazzlingly bright as a million suns: I pray to you to remove all obstacles and make my endeavors successful. Having prayed to Lord Ganesha thus, we are now ready to begin any task.
