Rama Rama Rameti - shloka on Shri Rama from Vishnu Sahasranama

Shri Raama Raama Raameti
Rame Raame Manorame
Sahasranaama tatulyam
Raama naama varaanane

श्री राम राम रामेति
रमे रामे मनोरमे
सहस्रनाम तत्तुल्यं
राम नाम वरानने

This shloka is from the Vishnu Sahasranama and it extols the virtues of namajapan (नामजपन ), the chanting of the Lord's name. According to this shloka, the chanting of Shri Rama's name three times is akin to reciting the entire Vishnu Sahasranama- the thousand names of Lord Vishnu. This shloka distills the essence of the entire Vishnu Sahasranama and therefore when you are pressed for time this shloka may be recited instead of the entire Vishnu Sahasranaama. This shloka is usually repeated three times.

(Why are things repeated three times in Hindu prayers and chanting? That, could be the subject of a whole new post!)
